BTC hashrate drops as flood takes out miners in China

Bitcoin News

A large dip in the Bitcoin hash-rate on the 27th of June, dropping ~10million TH/s (or ~25%), has been attributed to a flood in the Sichaun province- which is known for it’s big mining operations

There are currently no know quantities of mining hardware that has been damaged but it is reported that 10s of thousands of machines are un-salvageable from the flood damage

Luckily the hashrate corrected as it appears that the network was able to respond and account for this major dip relatively quickly
